CALICO floral design is located in Warren, ME seven miles from the rocky coast.

The name CALICO comes from our favorite wild flower that grows here on the barren, the Calico Aster. They are delicate and their tiny pale yellow and purple flowers last late in the fall until the first frost.

We are Arla and John and we have been farming this land as a commercial organic blueberry farm for the past five years.  We primarily cultivate blueberries but we do harvest some of our flowers for wedding design from our growing perennial gardens.  The majority of flowers used at CALICO are purchased from other flower growers throughout the state of Maine.

As we continue to diversify our farm, new ideas emerge and the projects here are ever-evolving. As one project ends a new one begins. A barn is currently being constructed and plans for more animals in the future are in order. Over the years we plan to add new facets to the farm but for now, blueberries, perennial flowers, a handful of chickens and pigs, a small sugar bush, and a couple of bee hives is enough.
